I am finally back home in Montreal and I have tons of beautiful sunkissed reviews planned for this semester. I just want to escape winter by all means, so this blog should be as warm as possible all year. 😛

My last Avocado review was back in July and as you can imagine, the brand has released some great new styles since then. Their new collection called Pleasures, is full of luxurious and sophisticated new styles. One of them is this new version of their Silk Gardenia bra, in the popular HCQ cut.

[This set was gifted to me by Avocado lingerie. All thoughts and opinions are my own.]

The beautiful golden embroidery is making a come back and I am loving this hybrid high apex-balconnet version. In this style, the floral embroidery almost looks like it’s falling as a cascade from the shoulder to the bust. I am particularly fond of the scalloped edges. This bra feels and look luxurious. I am amazed by Avocado attention to detail and sense of aesthetic. The bi-colour embroidery seems to attract the sunshine.

I tried to take advantage of the golden hour in order to show you that gorgeous luminous floral embroidery, but I still think it’s even better in person. While I liked the NF version of Silk Gardenia, I have to say that I am quite in love with this new design. In my size, the straps are rather thin. They are fully adjustable and short, as usual with the brand. I love short straps are my breasts are rather high set, so this is a plus for me. Actually I am surprised that I almost don’t have to shorten those straps. This is something to take in consideration if you have lower-set breasts roots or a longer torso.

The fit:

I received the set in size 60H and XS. The bra is quite perfect fit on my UK 30G/GG breasts. I really love Avocado consistency when it comes to sizing. This HCQ pattern is also great if like me you experience a lot of size fluctuations. The cups are deep enough to allow some breasts projection but also provide an amazing rounded and uplifted shape.

The bra is made of 4 parts, with 3 parts that are similar to a balconnet bra, with 1 vertical seam and 1 horizontal seam. Only the bottom 2/3 of the bra are lined with a second layer of mesh. It’s a very thin mesh that is almost transparent. The top part of the bra is made of one layer of mesh, and has some elasticity which is good to adapt to different breasts fullness. The 4th part would be the “high apex” layer which also shows some elasticity, and I believe, helps perfecting the fit of the bra.

The wires are very narrow and the gore is tacking properly against my thorax. I love that the cups give me some cleavage but in a comfortable and contained way. I can do anything while wearing this bra. It’s one of those bras that look like they’re made for special occasion but will be there to support you at any time. Avocado makes sturdy bras honestly, I never hesitate to reach out for them in the morning, no matter are gorgeous and delicate they look.

[Should have swooped and scooped properly before taking this picture but my breasts normally sit perfectly inside the cups, as you can see on other pictures.]

The coordinate

I already own the classic brief coordinate but I am so glad the brand sent me their high waisted retro version! I LOVE high waisted briefs. Also, I don’t mind wearing more of this golden embroidery. I love the classic but luxurious look of this brief. It’s also very comfortable. I received a size XS instead of my usual Small, but it doesn’t make a big difference for me. As you can see on my third picture, it still provides a lot of coverage at the back. Avocado briefs are made of super soft microfiber and the sizing is consistent through the ranges. I know Polish brands tend to run smaller than UK/US/FR brands, but I wear a UK 10 and Avocado XS/S. The important thing to take in consideration is that you should size up in high waisted briefs if you happen to have wide hips.
I am pretty in love with this set. Although I am not a huge fan of big flowers on lingerie, Silk Magnolia won my heart. I just feel so fancy when I wear it. Ahah! It’s feminine but not cheesy, it’s elegant and practical. I am all for glossy embroidery lately so this set absolutely work for me.

Yours truly,
Wen
