I know silk and lace have had my preference lately, but I still can appreciate a good basic. Ellesmere lingerie is one of my favorite brands for the past 4 years now, and that’s because they check all the boxes of what a lingerie brand must be for me to get my attention. Ellesmere’s ethical production process, incredible craftsmanship, tailoring skills, and timeless designs at affordable prices make this brand a real asset in your closet.

I wish they made loungewear as I am sure it would be incredibly lovely and well finished. Today is about their new Acadie set which I believe is inspired by a region of Canada that is located in New Brunswick and partly in Quebec. The population is made of French descents and you can actually find some of them in Louisiana (cajuns) and St-Pierre-et-Miquelon.
This part of the country has an interesting story as Acadian people used to be considered as the neutral French in the conflict between French and British Canadians. As you can imagine, nobody can remain neutral in such a turbulent conflict, and they did face the consequences of this decision. [Sorry for the super quick history lesson, to be honest, this is my understanding but I have never been there. ]

Fit and aesthetic

Acadie is a beautiful yet simple set. The pattern is different from the usual Ellesmere demi bra and is more of a three pieces full cup bra… However, this coverage is compensated by its level of sheerness. This bra isn’t meant for modesty. The bottom and side part of the cup is made of two layers of unstretchy mesh and the top part is made of one layer but features an elasticated edge, which helps with volume fluctuations. Ellesmere acadie set

The band is made of one layer of mesh and features 3 sets of hooks and eyes, and the underbust elastic is large and soft enough to remain comfortable throughout the day.
It should work well for even breasts and full on bottom ones, but since the top edge is elasticated, I think full-on top people could give it a try. The wires are medium width and perfectly encapsulate my roots. The gore sits on my thorax without hurting and keeps the fit very secure.
Ellesmere acadie setThe coordinated high-waist brief is becoming my favorite pair on days when I need comfort. The fabric used is lightweight Italian performance mesh, and bamboo cotton for the gusset. According to the brand, “this high-waist is quick-drying, moisture-wicking and breathable“, and I can only agree.
Ellesmere acadie setJust look at the fit! Maybe you have seen this pair used in my collab with Royce lingerie, the fit is amazing! I have worn Ellesmere’s panties for a while and they were always comfortable, but I did prefer the fit of their bikini brief because the high waisted ones tended to be eaten by my bum. Well, the Acadie brief stays perfectly in place. I think a size M works better for me in this cut, but the fabric also plays a role. This set is truly the perfect basic.  I love it.

What do you think of Acadie? Do you think one can have enough basics in their wardrobe?

By the way, I know I haven’t been posting for a while on my blog during the past two months… It’s been a tough period for me and as a result, I decided to create a Patreon page so I could get a more stable income from my creative work. If my reviews and other articles have ever helped you and you would like to support me, you can do so on this platform. I am very active on it, and I published a lot of content that will never be on this blog.

Yours truly,
