In 2020 we’re manifesting travels and success and since Curve NY is around the corner, I thought a review of a NY boutique would be appropriate! To be honest, I rarely get to shop in NY, simply because I am usually too busy meeting people when I am in the Big Apple. However last summer, I finally discovered a few more stores that would be great for lingerie lovers.
The reason why I ended up visiting Sugar Cookies NY is that I was desperately looking for a limited edition Aubade bra I had received in the wrong size the day before leaving Montreal. Indeed I had pre-ordered the Aubade x Viktor and Rolf Bow set back in Spring 2019 and unfortunately overestimated my bust size. So I received the bra in a 32G which was way too big in every way possible. Obviously it was complicated to get a replacement at the time as the bra was sold in very few quantities to stores. After interrogating pretty much everyone, I got the info from a nice lady that Sugar Cookies was one of Aubade stockists and that they might have a 32F in stock. I rushed to the store but they, unfortunately, didn’t have my size. Anyway, I still had a great lingerie experience there.
Sugar Cookies is a pretty and rather intimate boutique. Located on 122 W 20th St, New York, this boutique is slightly hidden from the sight due to being a slightly below the street level. I love the contrast between bricks walls and girl pink curtains and satin covered hangers. This boutique keeps it elegant, modern and diversified. ,I loved to find smaller luxury brands next to bigger ones. The selection was in trend, although you could find classic lingerie as well. Leather bras, bralettes and beautiful loungewear were on display. You’ll find some Empreinte, Cosabella, Something Wicked, The Giving Bride, Aubade, Eberjey or Simone Pérèle.
I really loved the atmosphere in this store and the bra fitter was really helpful and kind. I ended up realizing that my breasts had shrunk a little. I am a true 32F/30G in many French brands and a 30FF in UK brands at the moment. I used to be unable to wear Aubade half cup bras due to my projected breasts but it seems that their Comfort half cups are working amazingly with my new size/shape.
You know sometimes when you blog about lingerie in North America, shopping in-store can get a bit unsurprising and I end up just using my laptop even for window shopping. For this reason, I always love to find stores that sell products I can’t find everywhere but also in a size range I can actually fit it. I know many Aubade retailers in Canada that do not bring in G cup even if the brand made the effort to make it available. And that isn’t only a Canada problem…

I know having a small lingerie store in a country that taxes imported bras so very much isn’t easy but then there is also a lot of reasons why many women hate shopping in stores… The internet is often way more friendly and full of possibilities.

So anyway, I love going into a store and having a few pretty options. For sure I don’t have the fuller bust ever, and I know this store won’t work for everyone, but that is an option if you are looking for the brands they stock.
My experience at Sugar Cookies NY has been positive and I hope I can visit them again next month!

Wen
Lingerie shopping at Sugar cookies looks like a real treat! I love the looks of their window display, of the presentation in their store, and of the inviting dressing room.
That Aubade Au bal de Flore Comfort half-cup bra looks especially pretty.
Hello! I am the Aubade distributor for Canada and I can assure you that all the stores that carry Aubade buy the G cups, particularly in the Half cup, which is one of Aubade’s signature bra style. I am sorry that you could not find your size at the time. I would be more than happy to redirect you and help with any information you may require to help your followers find their happiness in canadian lingerie stores. 🙂 Yours truly.
