Hey beautiful people! Today’s review is one the most exciting posts I have written this year. I mean, I am really excited, I don’t know about you.
Today we’re reviewing the ever so gorgeous Katherine Hamilton Abbie set. After reviewing the “faulty” Sophia set I bought from the brand outlet, I was really happy to try a set made with the brand’s regular quality standards. This really helped me understand what was wrong with my Sophia set, from the brand point of view. It also helped me to understand their price point and their effort to achieve a luxurious full-bust product for such a wide size range.

[I received this set free of charge for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own.]

The Abbie range comes in a light shade of powdery, dusty pink but also in a black colorway. I believe they are both gorgeous, but this romantic Vintage Rose definitely stole my heart. I have to admit that I have been worried that it would be too light to flatter my skin tone, before receiving it. It turned out to look quite good, though, I think this shade would look better on lighter or darker skin tones. Note that it is a bit difficult to photograph this colour accurately. It looks more peachy on the website than it is in reality but I think my pictures aren’t so bad.

This bra feels very luxurious. I am so impressed by the quality of the material and the attention to detail. This French eyelashes lace is soft to the touch and a bit stretchy. It feels so light and delicate, yet the cup’s structure is on point for full-bust support. The lower part of the cup is lined with one layer of thin mesh while the upper part is lined with a piece of mesh folded in two layers, in a very neat way. The only other bras I own, that show a similar construction detail are from Harlow and Fox. It’s certainly one of the daintiest bras in my drawer at the moment. Unsurprisingly, I am crazy about the silk covered buttons adorning the center gore. This detail is everything.
I received the bra in a size 30G and it fits me like a dream. Despite my shallow breast shape, this bra gives me a very rounded profile and the lace sits gracefully on top of my chest without creating any weird gap. The cups provide a good coverage but in a very delicate way. The material feels so soft and comfortable that it seems to be barely there.
The straps are covered with silk satin and are half-adjustable, although, if you need to shorten the straps up to the satin part, you probably need a different bra size. This straps are quite short which is perfect for high set breasts.
The wires feel much better in this bra than in the faulty Sophia bra I reviewed a few posts ago. They are pleasant to wear and follow my breasts roots very well. The gore is narrow, sits lower on my chest and tacks perfectly without hurting. Honestly, the fit of this bra is on point. The band is wide and features strong power-mesh for perfect support. This is not a flimsy luxury bra.

I received the coordinate in a size UK10 and while I needed a size 12 in Sophia, this one fits me very well. I was very surprised by this brief actually. On the website it seems to be low rise but it actually isn’t, which is a good surprise for me. The lace is lined just like the upper part of the bra, with 2 layers of thin stretchy mesh. I love this construction because it prevents any cutting in. There is no seam involved along the front top edge.
It’s super comfortable and provides good bum coverage. This isn’t a VPL-free brief but it is comfortable and well-fitting. The gusset is made of silk and lined with cotton. On some pictures, it looks like the silk part shows a lot but it really is more of a gusset, not so much of the front of this piece.
In my opinion the silk accents provide some light to this set. A touch of extra indulgence. Abbie is feminine and precious. Although the fit is perfect, I would be afraid to wear this bra on a daily basis. I just want it to last and remain in perfect shape forever. This bra has it all. It’s secure, well-fitting, luxurious and gorgeous. Sizing wise, I find it to be quite deep in the cup so if you are in between size, I would go for the smaller option. For some reason I wear a 30G in all the luxury full-bust brands I have encountered and a 30GG in the others. Does anyone have the same experience?

Anyway, I am over the moon every time I put this set on and I know that Katherine Hamilton has a lot more to offer. This brand is just so promising and it feels great to know that full-busted lingerie addicts of all ages also have quality, luxury products made with their breasts in mind. Katherine Hamilton is currently the only British luxury brand offering such a size range at no extra cost: 26D‐34HH, 34D‐34H, 36D‐36G and 38D‐38FF. I wish them the best, and hope to see them grow for many more years!

Yours truly,
Wen

  1. It’s so true that it’s often difficult to get the true colour of lingerie pieces to be accurately reflected in photos. I have had difficulties with that in the past myself.
That said, I love the colour and appearance of the Katherine Hamilton Abbie Rose panty and bra set being modelled by you in the photos above. You look fabulous modelling them. The lace and silk satin bra straps look very pretty.
I just visited the Katherine Hamilton website and like the look of the Katherine Hamilton Sophia High-Waisted Knickers.
