Hey lingerie lovers! I am back with another lingerie-as-outerwear piece and it’s one I have been excited about for a while. I am a sucker for Earth tones. My wardrobe is mostly black but warm beige and ochre always have a place with me. I just love the “nude” effect on my skin tone. Moreover, these colors work well as basic but can also easily be elevated.

This bra retails for 403USD at full price but was on sample sale for 62USD + shipping at the time. Although I had doubts about sizing, I ended up buying a size L (the biggest size available).
I received the piece very quickly and honestly, couldn’t be happier with it.

Layering a harness bra

The Bordelle Orbit Bra is very adjustable, so you can definitely play with the cup and back size a little. I did try it as a regular bra but there was a shape incompatibility with my breasts, unfortunately. I think I am too full on side for this piece, as the side panels are clearly made to push the breasts to the center. However, worn over a top, everything falls perfectly into place.
lingerie as outerwearFor these photos I decided to wear the Empreinte Cassiopée spacer bra which did a perfect job at being smooth under my top. So yes, I am wearing 2 bras. Ahaha! But to be honest the Cassiopée is so light and comfy that it really didn’t bother me.
The Bordelle Orbit bra has a very futuristic look and I am so happy with the way it frames my breasts.

I am not going to lie, it did get a lot of attention, and I am surprised by how comfortable people have been looking at my breasts that day. But can I really blame them? It’s a rather unusual outfit for the calm streets of the old Montreal.
As you can see, this bra closes with a zipper. This is relatively practical if you are able to pass the back straps through your head. These straps are linked by a hook but I never undo it.
The 24K hardware is beautiful and I believe this bra is even better in person than in photos. At this price, I believe it didn’t meet the brand’s standards but since it’s my very first Bordelle item, I do not get to understand why such a huge price difference.

A classic outfit

The clothes I am wearing are from Frank and Oak, as often. This T-shirt is made of organic cotton and I really like this warm maroon colorway. I believe it is on sale right now. The Tencel pants are from last year and have been featured in my very first lingerie-as-outerwear post. After a year, they are holding up quite well. The size I am wearing is a US 4.

I love this pair because I can wear it with so many different tops and I always get either an elegant look or something more casual but always structured. The purse is from Fossil and it’s basically my go-to bag at the moment because it’s so small and easy to match with everyday outfits. This might not be interesting but my shoes are from Aldo. Most sandals have a wide fit in comparison to my feet so I am glad I found these ones.

It was my first time shooting with Daynis, so I wasn’t feeling too confident in my posing that day ahah! Always need to warm up a bit. But I hope you enjoy the pictures and we’ll probably be back with a few more outfit posts this summer. In the meantime, let me know your thoughts!

Yours truly,
Wen

  1. That Frank and Oak T-shirt provided some nice contrast, both for wearing the Bordelle Orbit Adjustable Bodice Bra as outerwear, and with the black blazer and black Tencel trousers you styled with your OOTD. It’s a very attractive, classy and intriguing look.
