This summer has been very interesting in term of lingerie purchases. I have been buying more white underwear than ever and finally put my hands on some pieces I have been lusting after since forever. I am still proud of myself for not going crazy during the multiples summer sales. One of the things I knew I would absolutely want in my wardrobe was the Mimi Holliday Swan Lake collection. I had the chance to see it in person at Curve last year and was so excited when the brand decided to make this bra in GG and H cups.

[ I bought this set with my own money. All thoughts and opinions are my own.]

I have to say that I have been a Mimi Holliday fan for years. I absolutely love their aesthetic. It’s simply unique and fun. They have a small range of full bust bras called Maxi bras, going from 28D to 36G, including sometimes GG and HH cups. Note that the brand doesn’t offer Maxi bras for every collection.
In the past, I have read some reviews about them that let me think that this fullbust range was more of an after-thought than a specialized range. This prevented me from buying from them until this year. I know everything is not about fit but I can’t get myself to spend 100$ on a bra that will only be worn on special occasion. To be honest I am not really a special occasion person. I wear my nice clothes and lingerie like casual pieces. Life is too short. Anyway, I finally read a review that gave me hope that the brand improved their fit through the years. So obviously I took the plunge and bought this gorgeous set as soon as I could.

The bra

I ordered a size 30GG and a Small for the brief. This bra is a beautiful three-parts balconnet made of embroidered tulle and delicate lace. My nipples are blurred on these pictures because this tulle is actually very cheer. The embroidered Swans are truly adorable and I really like the detail on the elasticated edges of the cup. It’s so great to see this type of design made for fuller busts. I am really happy with it. As usual my smaller breasts has some room to spare at the top of the cup but it’s no big deal really.
The cups are true-to-size. I found the wires to be less strong than what I am used to. They have a medium width and are rather flexible. The gore really softly tacks on my sternum. I believe depending on the body shape it might just not tack on some people. In my case, it still provides a secure fit and actually, I like not feeling stabbed in the chest. It’s a comfortable bra, really. In term of shapping, this bra isn’t uplifting. It gives me a very natural breasts shape. My breasts are naturally wide, full on bottom and a little bit projected. Well, this is what I get with this bra. It only separates them more. If you are ok with your natural shape then, you will probably like this bra fit but if you are looking for shaping, you might not.
The straps are semi-adjustable. The unadjustable part is covered with pure silk and the other half is a usual strap elastic. Although it’s only half-adjustable I found it perfect for my high-set breasts. I usually have to tighten this type of straps all the way without even being satisfied with the resulting length. With this bra, I can comfortably set it to half of the adjustable length.
The band is appropriately wide and true to size. It surprisingly features 4 sets of two hooks and eyes. In fact, the hooks and yes are widely situated. The panel looks as wide as a three hooks and eyes closure would be. I wear it at the loosest setting without any discomfort.

The coordinate:

I initially ordered a size Medium after reading that the briefs ran small. However, the size Medium was too big and I got ugly wrinkles on my bum and at the front. The Small is a way better fit especially since the back of the brief is made of stretchy laser cut microfiber. I am not sure if the lace on the edge of the microfiber was necessary aesthetically. For me it makes this brief look a little less luxurious and doesn’t really match the rest of the set. The front is made of tulle but the hips elastic makes it a bit stretchy. The fit is perfect on my hips and bum and it provides a full coverage. I believe this brief fits true to size or even slightly big after talking to other recent customers.

Overall, this set is a win and I am just so glad to add it to my collection. I am not sure that the fit would please everybody, but I find it to be practical and comfortable enough for daily wear. I love that Mimi Holliday included full bust customers in this amazing collection and I hope they will keep making great designs in bigger cup sizes. I am not really tempted by their other maxi bras, though. I really wish I got the Raspberry Daiquiri set when I had the chance, I do not like the red on pink combination of the Beau colorway. That heart embroidery looks just so lovely on a sheer tulle!
Another thing I like with Mimi Holliday is the adorable packaging that contains your order. It just looks like a present and I can’t bring myself to throw that box away. Ahah! Lingerie hoarder problems…

Sending love!

Yours truly,
Wen
