I have been thinking about my Halloween article for a while now. Actually a few months. At the beginning of the year, I made a list of lingerie brands that I really wanted to try in 2018 and I thought that Fall would be appropriate to introduce Agashi by Christina O.
I have been following Agashi for a couple of years now. Maybe more. I don’t really remember when I discovered her Instagram page. Her work immediately spoke to me, though.
I totally identify as a Wednesday Adams since I discovered this character as a kid. Now that I am growing older, I am becoming more of a Morticia, but the child inside keeps asking for more Peter Pan collars and my wardrobe is mostly black and white.

Agashi designs are so playful yet dark and elegant in such a witchy way. I love that she creates versatile pieces of clothing and dramatic loungewear. I own a handful of her pieces and I am always happy to buy more. Her work is of great quality and I actually find it to be reasonably priced.
Last winter, I was coveting the mini Bat wing-bat lace kimono. Before ordering, I contacted the designer and asked for advice about the sizing. These kimonos are available in size 28″-36″ bust or 38″-46″ bust. She thought the smaller size would work well for me so I went for it.
However, while I was really happy with the velvety bats, I didn’t feel like the wrapping effect was enough for me. I also found it to be quite short. I asked if there was a possibility to exchange it for a longer, larger kimono and Christina kindly accepted.
A little bit more than a month later, I received a beautiful Maxi Bat wing kimono with “spider lace” in size 38-46″ : the Black Widow kimono. This one was definitely a match.

Fit and detailing:

I don’t think any of my other robes makes me feel like such a queen of the darkness.
This kimono is made of an un-stretchy mesh with velvety spiderweb detailing but the collar and bottom edges are made of soft stretchy mesh. At first, the main fabric of the robe felt a bit scratchy and I didn’t like to wear it without a slip but it seems that it softened with time and now I don’t have to complain.

The bat wings sleeves are absolutely amazing. They are sewn in such a way that you have a huge amount of space for the arm though the fabric around the wrist is sewn in a wide but contained hole. Theses sleeves are appreciably long, as you can see. I love the finishes and the way they end like a pointy kind of glove over my hands. I cannot say that I can cook or wash dishes with this robe but I gladly do everything else.

The pattern of this piece is very nicely done. I love how wide this kimono is and the matching mesh belt is the longest I have ever seen. I believe it’s a bit longer than 3,7 meters. Sometimes I find this length annoying but it’s aesthetically nice. I am sorry you can’t really see the cute bow I made with it on my first picture.
This kimono also features two wide passers for the belt, which is great because I think it’s a bit heavier than all the other kimono belts I have encountered. I really like the strechy mesh details on this piece. I can see the attention to detail and the quality of the sewing. This robe simply makes me feel glorious.

What is your halloween lingerie this year?

  1. OMG, that witchy lingerie-as-outerwear Halloween couture featuring the Agashi bat wing “spider lace” kimono is perfection!
I’m afraid I didn’t get it together and get a new wig and boots in time to resurrect my Halloween outfit (it featured a sheer lace blouse and sheer petticoat over lingerie).
I just stopped by the Agashi by Christina O website – love!!!!!!
You look fabulous (as usual) in that amazing outfit!
