So… I don’t know about you guys, but for the longest time, I considered clothes with built-in bras as a concept. I had never found any that would fit my breasts and my body at the same time and honestly wondered how they could fit so many different people with a S-M-L sizing. Actually, the idea of trusting a top to contain my breasts tissue outside of the house wouldn’t come to my mind. So when Sugar Candy launched their Lounge tank top, I eventually got curious.
[ This product was sent to me by Sugar Candy for review purposes. I was compensated for my work but all thoughts and opinions are my own.]
I happily received a size Small which seems to be my perfect Sugar Candy size for their newest designs. The first thing that caught my attention when I took it out of the gift box was its weight. For sure this isn’t a basic cami with built-in bralette. The fabric feels strong and thick, but also soft. I love that the brand chose a dark grey instead of a black/white/beige colorway. It’s sporty but also super versatile. This colorway goes well with many different colors so I didn’t have to think too much when styling it for these pictures.
Fit & Construction
I decided to be a little more “active” for these photos, to illustrate my points more clearly. As you can see, from the outside, this top features very soft “cups” which are independent from the built-in bralette. These cups are molded to fit several breasts sizes. In that case, the Small should fit a UK 32F to 32GG/30H.
Inside, you’ll find a racer back version of the Sugar Candy bra. It’s pretty great. However, the fit of the band feels a bit different from the Sugar Candy bra. While I can wear a size Small in the bra with the band set at the 2nd loosest sets of hooks and eyes, with the lounge tank, I am comfortable at a tighter setting. What I mean is that I wouldn’t wear the Sugar Candy Bra at the tightest setting, but that wouldn’t be a problem with this tank. It’s not that the band is loose but I am actually comfortable wearing it at any level of tightness because the top already gives so much structure.
This lounge top is utterly comfortable. I didn’t want to take it off once I tried it on. It seems to hug you and just holds everything into place.Although there is a lot of room in the “body” part (I am a UK 8-10 and it would fit up to a 12 I believe) the fabric is firm enough to provide a nice fit along the body. I think it works very well for yoga practice or anything that doesn’t require to jump around or run for an extended period of time. It’s very secure and supportive but it remains very soft so running and jumping wouldn’t be very comfortable. I love that this top has a long length. The straps are also adjustable and wide enough to be comfortable. I didn’t feel any discomfort on my shoulders. I am actually so happy with it that I don’t know if I prefer to wear it as nightwear or loungewear. Sugar Candy products are among the comfiest I have tried so far. The quality is consistent and the fit is great. This top even provides some uplift. There are some things that are taken for granted in the clothing industry, that are still rare in some niches like fullbust fashion. Good supportive tank tops are part of those things. Of course, I have seen a few over the years but mostly from the same companies and never in such a large range of sizes (30-42 bands, up to a HH cup). It’s good to have options in term of style, fit and patterns. I am always glad to discover more well thought-out products adapted to different morphology, breasts and body size.
The Sugar Candy lounge Tank is a great addition to my wardrobe and I am already living in it. I can’t wait to discover Sugar Candy future products because so far, everything has been great!
Yours truly,
Wen xx
