So I am getting my productivity back and catching up with my blog reviews. It feels good to post again on here and social media, although my approach is changing progressively. I don’t think most people get the amount of energy bloggers put into their work. Emotionally, financially, it gets exhausting and takes a while to actually pay off. I am glad I didn’t start Comics Girls Need Bras with the idea to make it a career cause I would probably not have made it so far. Anyway, I still love it, and I still work hard to provide so let’s see what the future holds.

So, a few months ago, I got to try some pieces from Avocado’s latest collection. Dalida and Misia Twin were both really cool styles and I loved the more badass aesthetic of these sets. Darling is definitely a softer approach. It’s light, classic and summery. I received the bra in the NF pattern and size 60H, and the brief in size Small.

Fit and Appearance

Darling is a romantic style, compared to the very minimalistic and modern collections the brand have been releasing during the past two years. It’s has a different feel, although it does fit into Avocado’s very European style. The color is muted and kind of neutral. Powdery pink embroidery and taupe microfiber. It’s an easy everyday design actually.
The NF shape provides almost full coverage, which is balanced by the sheerness of that set. I think I would have loved the half-cup version of this bra for a more dainty look. Nevertheless, the scalloped edge of the top of the cup is lovely. The straps are fully adjustable and feature beautiful pink tulle to complement the silvery taupe fabric.
Avocado Darling is lovely. The discreet kind of lovely, but still. As usual, the construction is quite sturdy and secure. You can expect Avocado’s firm band and relatively narrow wires. In this size, the closure is made of 3 rows of 2 hooks and eyes. The gore has a medium height. The embroidery is thin enough to not show under most tops which is great!I received the coordinate in a size Small, which is my usual Avocado size. This brief is made of lace and microfiber, just like the bra. It provides a lot of coverage and is mid-rise, which I would say is great if you want the practicality of a bikini brief but wants to cover the bottom of your belly.

In a nutshell, this set feels like your everyday lingerie, not the one you save for special occasions but still cute enough to feel good when you put it on. More importantly, Darling is reliable and easy to wear!

Love always,
Wen

  1. That Avocado Darling lingerie set looks beautifully designed and tailored.
The powder pink embroidery, tulle, scalloped trim, and colour of the microfibre fabric all look very pretty.
